you know when you're an MC and your freakin' RAP NAME is FRITZ THA CAT and for YEARS you plan to make a video for one of your songs using footage from the DAMN MOVIE and you finally make a rough cut of a video and you're like "shit, this looks HELLA FRESH," and you decide that for your next album you're gonna hire somebody to do it up all profressional for you since you don't really know how to edit video footage all that well but you've already spent hours and hours capturing all the footage so you're ready to go and then your friend geoff in vancouver emails you a link and says "ya'll peep the new Guru track (feat Common) "State of Clarity" video starring Fritz the Cat? kinda ill..." and you're like WHAT THE FUCK???!!!!!

That's what you get for trying to abandon that name. Jokes. Whaddeup doggie. Where my blogs at.
Dude, that has happened to my band countless times. What a bummer. But yo, don't let this stop you! You're gonna combine footage of you guys with footage of the cartoon, right? As opposed to using nothing but footage from the movie, like this one. Hell, you could get someone to animate yourself and Recordface and combine it with the movie footage too...which would be dope! Who's really gonna see this Guru video anyways? Great song, but what station is gonna play the video? I say you should still follow through with it. Hope it goes well, bro!
PEACE.1.D.
yeah y'all, still gonna do it... fuck it... I"M FRITZ THA CAT biatches! haahaha
Hi Ryan,
I was the editor of that Guru video. I sympathize with your dilemma. Solar came to me with the idea and at first I thought it was an odd concept, but as I went along, I kinda' had fun with it.
As far as 'who's going to play/see it', as Mista D remarked....it actually is the official video for eth song, and it's played on BET....and is actually on their site on Guru's artist page there, along with the rest of the videos that I edited for him. But these days, people re-edit stuff from movies to a bunch of stuff, so no-one will stop you from doing your own thing.
